GOLDEN SHELL
Do you choose to hide or to truly experience? This new drawing is finished and can be added to my project “feeling”. In this project I try to capture the unwritten words and unseen connections that we as humans behold, but that are unseen to the bare eye.
The gold in this drawing represents those exact connections, those feelings that we as humans sometimes are scared to see. Connections and feelings that we might fear for what they could cause, leaving us running from them. But by acknowledging those feelings instead of hiding from them, aren’t we able to find a deeper meaning of us, of who we are? Then why are we as humans scared to truly feel, to truly experience? The way I see it, we can either hide in that shell forever, never knowing the “new”, or we can try to break out that shell and start to truly experience.

GOLDEN DROPS
This piece captures that every mind and soul in itself is unique in its own way. Although the outside world might see you in this way, we sometimes tend to feel something else from within. You might struggle and find yourself pinned to the ground and not wanting to take a step further.
But when taking a step back you find yourself surrounded by light, shedding light upon the importance of life, the importance of "you".

DRIPPING DOWN
Feelings are sacred. You cannot bend them the way you want. Feelings are like dripping paint, you never know what path the dripping of the paint will take. One can only let it flow to see the outcome.
​
This piece took 6 months to finish and was solely made with three different pencils. The technique used is one I taught myself by combining charcoal with pencil. For the background more than 14 charcoal pencils were used.

FEELING
Everything is in contact. Most of the times that contact is what we see and perceive. But the dearest feelings cannot be seen through the eyes, they are felt by the heart. Art is a way to reveal and expose these feelings to the world. This exposure will be the goal of Lara's new series.

This drawing is her first piece of the series, which exposes the feelings perceived without seeing the actual power of this strength.
